Environment & Certification

For a long time, humans have damaged the ecological systems of nature through ignorance and short-sightedness. Fortunately, today we can see clear trends towards more considerate actions from various organizations, companies, and individuals.

The fact is, no company is too small or too large to not take responsibility for its environmental impact.

The manufacturing methods and products of Burseryds Träindustri have always been environmentally friendly because we work with nature’s own raw materials and refine them according to old traditions. Therefore, our parquet looks pretty much the same today as it did in 1935, when the first oak log was refined into parquet flooring at our factory. A floor that truly retains its beauty to this day.

Naturally, there are a number of areas that can be improved to make our operations even more environmentally friendly. Therefore, we continuously work to find new solutions in our production that better suit the environment. Some examples of this work are:

  • Based on our raw material consumption, we operate according to the ecological forestry program, which includes a replanting program to ensure regrowth.
  • The raw material is refined with the goal of being utilized 100%. The waste material generated during manufacturing is converted into pellets, among other things, and used to heat the factory facility.
  • No environmentally hazardous by-products are used or created during manufacturing.
  • Through regional warehouses, we avoid small deliveries. In this way, we can transport larger volumes less frequently.
  • We strive, as much as possible, to avoid energy-intensive transportation.
  • We virtually do not manufacture parquet from exotic woods. If an exception is made, we only use certified raw materials.
